The Sino Phil Asia International Peace Foundation and Order of the Knights of Rizal World Brothers chapter supported an afternoon of hope and inspiration with The Center for Health Improvement & Life Development [the CHILD] Haus and its adolescent cancer patients in metro Manila.
The recent Sunday afternoon program with parents and children witnessed song and dance, plus donations for children’s emotional well being.
Said CHILD Haus Director Ms. Jeanette Chua, “We sing and dance to lift up the spirits of children and parents. Thank you so much to the Sino Phil Asia International Peace Foundation and Order of the Knights of Rizal World Brothers chapter for your support.”
Sino Phil Asia International Peace Foundation and Order of the Knights of Rizal World Brothers respective Chairman and Knights Commander Dr Billy Chan said, “While we battle the pandemic on one the hand, we must also continue to fortify support for our entire medical system, and children are still extremely vulnerable, particularly cancer patients. We’re proud to be energize the children and parents of CHILD Haus.”
Sino Phil Asia board members Rose Gonzalez and Rhoda Gonzalez, Sonny Chico and Christopher Cottrell (both of whom are World Brothers chapter Knights of Rizal) officiated the event and distributed the gift packages and served freshly cooked meals to the attendees.
Founded by Mr. Henry “Hans” Sy. Jr as an homage to his father Henry Sy. Sr., CHILD Haus shelters and supports cancer patient children and their parents from around the Philippines while they undergo local treatments in Manila. It provides dormitories, pharmacy, dining facilities, recreation rooms and a play area on the roof for fresh air. It is presently tending to over 25-children, as well as a few teenagers and some adults. Parents and guardians are also living with the children and contribute with communal cooking and care for the patients.
