As an extension of medical diplomacy and peace, Professor Manson Fok, President of the Sino Asia Pacific International Medical Forum and Sino Luso International Medical Forum, presented the Davao Mayor Sara Duterte’s office and  local health officials with state-of-the art medical devices.

These were two ultrasound machines and a sophisticated bipolar resectoscope system mainly for bladder cancer and benign prostate procedures. The donations were part of the  4th Sino Asia Pacific International Medical Forum and 46th Sino Luso International Medical Forum, which was titled, “Medical Education, Innovations and Health Sciences.”

Professor Fok commented,“This is our fourth Sino Asia Pacific International Medical Forum and we are honored to donate to our good friends in the Philippines.”

Prof Fok added, “Earlier this week China’s President Xi Jinping met with Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte and his daughter Mayor Sara Duterte. It is in this greater spirit of peace that we are here to bridge medical diplomacy. Diseases and medical treatments know no borders”

Mayor Duterte’s office and Davao City Health Officer Dr. Joy Villafuerte, as well as doctors from the Philippine Obstetrics and Gynecology-Southern Mindanao Chapter (POGS), the Southern Philippines Medical Center-Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (SPMC), and the Brokenshire Integrated Health Ministries Incorporated (BIHMI) Departments of Surgery and Dept of OB-Gyn, received the equipment at the Southern Philippines Medical Center and at the Sino Asia Pacific symposium.

Added Dr. Fok, “From these days I hope we can deepen our ties for medical education and the service of humanity.”
